I am Amarand -- Sean Goodman online and off. I have been working with Linux and Unix-based infrastructure for over 36 years. I spend my days keeping systems running and my evenings building things that interest me.
I am not a content creator. I am not an influencer. I am a person who finds problems interesting and documents what happens when I try to solve them.
Everything here operates on a single principle:
Small guarantees instead of big promises.
Consistent, daily, atomic progress compounds into things worth keeping. I have found this to be true in infrastructure, in creative work, and in most things worth doing. Grand plans collapse. Small habits persist.
My work spans AI image generation, systems automation, creative tooling, environmental monitoring, and whatever pulls at my attention on any given day. I maintain an ongoing daily creative and technical practice that has been running since February 2025, documented in a self-hosted private internal wiki called Lexi.
On the creative side, I run a 700+ day unbroken daily challenge streak on NightCafe.
The Artist Style Database -- a collection of over 3,900 AI-ready style descriptions built in collaboration with Claude and ChatGPT -- is available as a free iOS app.
My primary social presence is on Counter.Social, a independent, ad-free platform. I am also on GitHub. I do not have a meaningful presence on corporate social media.
